I’m going easy on you ladies, gentlemen and non-binary today. Nothing says light reading like a fun and funny fact list. Here we go!
1. Back in ancient Rome, women used to smear crocodile poo all over their faces to keep the wrinkles at bay. Can't afford fancy creams? Just head down to the nearest swamp and start scooping!
2. Ladies, don't be afraid to shave your legs because you think your hair will grow back thicker. It's a myth! But hey, if you want to look like Chewbacca, go ahead and skip the razor.
3. Did you know that in ancient Egypt, men and women used to shave their eyebrows off as a sign of mourning when their cats died? Now that's what I call feline devotion.
4. The ancient Egyptians were really onto something with their henna hair dye. Not only does it give your hair a killer orange-red hue, but it also strengthens and conditions your locks. Move over, Pantene!
5. Who needs modern nail polish when you can just whip up a batch of beeswax, egg whites, gelatin, and vegetable dyes? It's the perfect DIY project for when you're feeling crafty and a little bit gross.
6. Black teeth were all the rage in ancient China because apparently, looking like you just ate a bag of Oreos was a sign of beauty and nobility. Just remember to brush your teeth, kids.
7. Want to wake up with perfect hair and a wrinkle-free face? Just switch to a silk or satin pillowcase. Plus, you'll feel like a fancy pants princess every night.
8. In the 17th century, women used to cover up their blemishes and scars with silk patches in the shape of stars or hearts. It's like a temporary face tattoo, but with way more class.
9. Shedding 50-100 hairs a day might sound alarming, but don't worry, it's totally normal. Unless you're shedding enough hair to knit a sweater, in which case, maybe see a doctor.
10. Finally, the real reason why chocolate is a girl's best friend: it's full of flavonoids that protect your skin from UV rays and pollution. So go ahead and indulge in that chocolate bar guilt-free. Your skin will thank you.
Thank you for reading! I’ll talk to you tomorrow.
